Sculptra Aesthetic Treatment

Injectable Poly-L Lactic Acid

Dr Brad offers SCULPTRA injections in Bristol to improve the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles, temporal volume loss and mid-face hollowing by stimulating your skin to produce more of the collagen that it lost during ageing.

Listen to what Dr Brad has to say about Sculptra treatments.

So much of the facial ageing effect is caused by the gradual, inevitable and serious loss of collagen from the dermis (middle layer) of the skin over time.

This results in loss of volume and tone in the skin which is the main cause of wrinkles, hollowing and sagging.

An Safe and Effective Collagen Stimulator.

SCULPTRA is the best treatment choice to stimulate or “kickstart” the fibroblast cells of the dermis to start producing your own collagen again to start reversing the signs of ageing attributable to collagen depletion. The main ingredient is PLLA (Poly-L Lactic Acid) which is a very fine particulate that is injected under the skin of the face in a thin, watery solution with anaesthetic. Over 4-6 weeks the PLLA molecules are naturally broken down in the dermis and it is this that stimulates the fibroblasts to gradually produce new collagen. That's why you get a gradual improvement in your appearance over the 4-6 weeks (and often beyond)! Some patients appreciate the gradual improvement as it is less immediately obvious that they have had a treatment.

SCULPTRA is well established, having been used extensively in the UK, USA and Europe for over 15 years and is scientifically proven to be both safe and effective.

Plastic surgery simply can not help your skin to create your own natural collagen.

Fortunately, SCULPTRA can!

Your SCULPTRA Treatment Plan.

For optimal results, 4 separate treatments are usually recommended at 4-6 week intervals so a course of treatment typically takes  4-6 months.

However, improvement tends to continue to evolve after those 4-6 months and the beneficial effects on your appearance can often still be seen 2 years after treatment.

After every course of treatment the patient is advised to massage their face for 5 minutes a day, 5 times a day for the first 5 days.

This is important to help to distribute the PLLA evenly throughout the dermis and to promote new collagen formation.

A single top-up treatment is usually recommended at the 2 year mark.
