Laser Hair Removal in Bristol with Dr Brad

Dr Brad's Laser Hair Removal

Doctor-Led. Medical-Grade. Proven Technology.

If you’re considering laser hair removal in Bristol, the most important decision is not the price — it’s who is treating you and with what technology.

At Doctor Brad’s Clinic, laser hair removal is:

  • Personally delivered by a GMC-registered doctor

  • Performed using gold-standard medical lasers

  • Tailored precisely to your skin type, hair type and risk profile

This is laser hair removal done properly, not rushed, delegated, or compromised.

A Doctor-Led Approach (Why This Matters)

Many laser hair removal clinics are:

  • Inflexibly therapist-led

  • Under-powered and protocol-driven

  • Equipment-limited

At my clinic, I personally assess, patch test and treat every patient.

Dr Brad

  • GMC-registered General Practitioner

  • Advanced aesthetics doctor

  • Level 5 Laser Hair Removal qualification (highest UK standard)

  • No delegation to technicians or therapists

  • Continuity of care

This matters because laser hair removal is not risk-free, particularly on darker skin, tanned skin, intimate areas, or when higher fluence energies are required for results.

Medical oversight is not a marketing slogan here — it’s the foundation of the service.

The Technology: Why We Use the Cynosure Elite Plus

Not all laser hair removal systems are equal.

I use the Cynosure Elite Plus, widely regarded as one of the gold-standard medical laser platforms worldwide.

It combines two separate, purpose-built lasers in one system:

Alexandrite 755 nm

  • Gold standard for fair to olive skin (Fitzpatrick I–III)

  • Highly effective for coarse, dark hair

  • Faster clearance with fewer sessions when appropriate

Nd:YAG 1064 nm

  • Safest laser for darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI)

  • Deeper penetration with lower epidermal risk

  • Essential for treating black and brown skin safely

Many clinics rely on single-wavelength diode systems or IPL.

These are compromises.

I don’t compromise.

Every treatment is selected based on your biology, not what a machine can or cannot do.

What About Fine Hair & “Peach Fuzz” for Face and Forearms?

This is one of the most misunderstood areas of laser hair removal — and where many clinics fail patients.

For fine, light, or “peach fuzz” hair, I offer a specialist treatment using the DEKA QS4 Nd:YAG laser, priced the same as standard laser hair removal.

This is not IPL, and it is not conventional long-pulse laser hair removal.

Why QS Nd:YAG Works So Well for Vellus Hair

  • Ultra-short, high-peak-power pulses interact effectively with fine melanin targets

  • Reduces the risk of paradoxical stimulation seen with inappropriate long-pulse treatments

  • Excellent safety profile when used correctly

  • Particularly effective for:

    • Facial peach fuzz

    • Cheeks, jawline, temples

    • Fine body hair that doesn’t respond well to standard lasers

This treatment is operator-dependent.
Used incorrectly, it can worsen hair.
Used properly, it delivers results that standard systems cannot.

This is one reason patients seek out a doctor-led clinic.

What Results Can You Expect?

Laser hair removal leads to significant, long-term hair reduction.

  • Most patients require 6–8 sessions

  • Some areas or hair types require more

  • Maintenance sessions may be needed over time

Hair grows in cycles. Laser only treats hairs in the active growth phase, which is why treatments are spaced:

  • Face: every 4–6 weeks

  • Body: every 6–8 weeks

I will always give you honest expectations, not sales promises.

Before & After Results

(Insert your male back before/after image here)

This example demonstrates typical results for coarse body hair treated with Alexandrite or Nd:YAG laser, depending on skin type.

Individual results vary based on:

  • Skin colour

  • Hair thickness and density

  • Hormonal influences

  • Treatment adherence

Safety First — Always

Laser hair removal can cause:

  • Burns

  • Pigment changes

  • Scarring (rare, but possible)

To minimise risk, I insist on:

  • Mandatory patch testing

  • Conservative initial settings

  • Clear pre- and post-treatment guidance

  • Medical screening for contraindications

Common Contraindications Include:

  • Recent sun exposure or tanning

  • Certain medications (e.g. isotretinoin)

  • Pregnancy

  • Active skin infections

  • Photosensitive conditions

If you are not a suitable candidate, I will tell you.

Intimate Areas & Chaperones

I routinely treat intimate areas for all genders.

  • Professional medical standards at all times

  • A chaperone is available on request

  • You are never rushed or pressured

Pricing & Consultation

Laser hair removal is not a commodity service.

A £60 consultation and patch test is required before treatment.
This is redeemable against treatment.

Why I charge for consultations:

  • Proper medical assessment takes time

  • It filters unsafe or unsuitable cases

  • It ensures higher treatment standards

See the end of this page to read full pricing tables for:

  • Alexandrite laser

  • Nd:YAG laser

  • QS Nd:YAG (vellus hair)

Why Patients Choose Doctor Brad

  • Doctor-led from consultation to final session

  • Gold-standard lasers, not shortcuts

  • Honest advice — even when it means saying no

  • Expertise with difficult hair and skin types

  • Consistent care — no rotating practitioners

This clinic is not for everyone.

It is for patients who value:

  • Safety

  • Expertise

  • Results over hype
